Over the last few weeks, I’ve been focusing on Miz and Morrison tag matches. While I do love them as a team, I want to move away from focusing on JoMo as a tag team wrestler and look at more of his singles matches. Over the next months, I will do that, but I thought it right to finish out July with one more Miz and Morrison tag match. The match I choose this week was featured on the August 1st, 2008 episode of ECW. Miz and Morrison, the WWE Tag Team Champions, took on Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore in a 15 Minutes of Fame title match. As far as I know, this is the only 15 Minute match Miz and Morrison had as a tag team.
This 15 Minutes of Fame match was a little different than the previous ones. In the original 15 Minute matches, if Morrison’s opponent could beat or even just last the full time, he would gain a future ECW title shot. It never happened, as they were really glorified jobber matches. However, in this one, the team that won the most decisions at the end of the 15 minutes would be the tag champs. It was a good TV championship match. It went back and forth, with each team gaining a fall. They battled to the very end, with both teams trying to get a 2nd fall. But when the 15 minutes were over, they remained tied at one fall a piece and Miz and Morrison retained their tag team championships.
