High Flying Friday: John Morrison, Sheamus, and Randy Orton vs Mark Henry, Christian, and Cody Rhodes
Author: FemmeJoMo Date: November 23rd, 2012 Filed In: High Flying Friday
This is a fun six man tag match from the 10/17/2011 episode of Raw which took place during the WWE’s tour of Mexico, which was a very big draw and extremely successful. The crowd is pretty awesome and that makes all the difference. The live crowd reaction can make a good match memorable and can even occasionally save a bad match. Chants can make an okay match, rather fun. I think back to Survivor Series 2011 as a good example. The “Sexual Chocolate” and “De Lo Brown” chants made the World Heavyweight Championship a lot more entertaining. Sometimes checking out creative and funny signs can make a boring segment more tolerable.
This match saw more of Christian and Morrison together in the ring. They had a little rivalry after JoMo returned from neck surgery. I wish the circumstances were different. I think if Morrison was healthier, it could have been the best feud that fall. Also, this match saw him with the ring with Mark Henry, which wasn’t very pretty and made me cringe a few times. Not because they didn’t have chemistry, but because Henry is so strong and punishing. Every move he does looks extremely painful.
I recently acquired a DVD set of JoMo’s entire WWE career (and some MNM OVW matches/segments.) So, if you have any match/segment suggestions you would like to see profiled here, please email or tweet me. I always welcome ideas (and feedback) from other fans.
